No worries, I am too.  That may sound weird coming from a guy who owns a wild bird store but it is true.  Last weekend Nancy and I went on our first bird watching trip.  We saw quite a few birds (our trip report is in a previous post), some new places, spent the day with friends and had a lot of fun.

Please feel free to come in if you need any help or advice.  I have a very nice local guidebook (Birds of the Puget Sound Region) and some literature on where to find birds in Kitsap County (courtesy of the Kitsap Audubon Society).  I also have a number of binoculars for sale.  I have many that are "entry level" and one or two from the Vortex Stokes line that are more high-end.  Let me know if you are in the market for a new pair of binoculars.  I may have some in the shop that you can take out and demo.

Kitsap Audubon Society is a great local resource and they also sponsor many birding trips.  Memberships start at just $15/month.

Are you interested in birding outside of Kitsap County?  If so, you might want to go to the Audubon Washington website and order some of their Great Washington State Birding Trail maps.  Currently they only have three available (Cascade Loop, Southwest Loop and Coulee Corridor) but more are in the works.
