The Great Backyard Bird Count is led by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon. It is a great opportunity for citizen scientists to participate in the collection of national bird data. The GBBC takes place Feb 16-19 and requires as little as 15 minutes of your time. Or, you can make a long weekend of it and take counts from many different sites.
The GBBC website will give you all the info you need in order to participate. They tell you how to count, offer birding tools, help with bird identification and an on-line bird guide.
