Poulsbo's Fish Park on a cold Friday morning in January.

I should preface this by saying that I am still in the "honeymoon" phase of bird watching.  I am still new to the whole process that I stop and take at least a cursory glance at just about anything with feathers.  That being said, I thought this morning was a great day to be birding at Fish Park.  I didn't see anything unusual nor any bird I have not seen before.  But, there were quite a few birds to look at and they were active and vocal.  The highlight of the morning was to see a mixed flock of Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Spotted Towhees and Black-capped Chickadees all fussing with each other in a thicket just off the trail.  The Kinglets must have been a little agitated as they were really showing their ruby crowns.  Little spots of red kept flashing in the brush while all these birds were hopping around and posturing.

Here is my list for Friday, Jan 18, 2008
   Great Blue Heron
   Black-capped Chickadee
   Song Sparrow
   Spotted Towhee
   Dark-eyed Junco
   Ruby-crowned Kinglet
   Pine Siskins (flocks of them)
   American Robin
   Purple Finch
   Winter Wren
   Belted Kingfisher
   European Starling
   Northern Flicker
   Bald Eagle
   American Crow
I also saw a little rabbit just off one of the far trails.
