Cloudy but nice
8:40am - 9:40am
Warmish...about 44F

I was able to get out of the house a little early today and had a full hour for birding at Fish Park.  I also took a minute to check on the footing for the new rocket box (bat house).  I attended to monthly work party earlier in February and helped install the foundation and first pole section.  Everything looked good and we can hopefully get the rocket box up and ready for guests within the next few weeks.

Birding was pretty slow this morning.  There were birds out( a lot of Robins) and about but nothing unusual or extraordinary.  The highpoint was hearing the frogs croaking for the first time this year.  I heard several and hope that means we are well on our way to Spring!

Here is my list from this morning:
    Mallard     X
    Green-winged Teal     X
    Bald Eagle     X
    Greater Yellowlegs     X
    gull sp.     X
    Belted Kingfisher     X
    crow sp.     X
    Black-capped Chickadee     X
    Ruby-crowned Kinglet     X
    American Robin     X
    Fox Sparrow     X
    Song Sparrow     X
    Dark-eyed Junco     X

I am trying to get better about entering my observations into eBird.  You should pop on over and take a look around.  eBird is a great resource for local bird info as well as a nice way to keep your own lists up-to-date.
