March 1, 2008
Mostly cloudy
Light wind
About 40F

The birds were everywhere when I pulled into the parking lot.  I could hear them all around and could see many flying through the park.  Most appeared to be Robins or Chickadees but I could also hear others; including a Northern Flicker.  I got all my gear together and turned around with the binoculars to see if I could spot the Flicker.  He was a little way into the park poking around a pile of brush.

The weather was a lot nicer then I had hoped for and it turned out to be a great morning for a walk.  As I made my way towards the back of the park I could hear frogs singing all around.  It sure sounds like they are as ready as I am for Spring to arrive.

A Fish Park frog.
