Earlier this week the Poulsbo City Council approved the purchase of an additional 7.5 acres for Fish Park.  This is a really nice parcel and should add a lot to the park's potential.  The Kitsap Sun had a nice article about the park in last Wednesday's paper.

Deep in a stand of trees on a narrow trail Wednesday afternoon, water could be heard trickling and songbirds chirped frequently.

"This is becoming a nice place for birders," Tom Nordlie said.

Aside from new land, the park has been undergoing other noticeable changes of late.

The parking lot was refined, a fish sculpture was unveiled at the entrance, a kiosk at the trailhead is nearly complete, and a nearly 1,000-foot boardwalk along the park's west side is under way.
