Fish Park is changing with the season.  The trees are all leafed, the grasses are growing and the wildflowers are blooming.  It is a great time of the year to head down to the park for a walk.  A nice new addition is the boardwalk currently being built by our local Lions Club.  The boardwalk takes you through a stand of trees and along a tiny creek.  We have seen a lot of warblers, thrush and flycatchers in here.

I walked through the park Saturday morning and was happy to see that the Mallard hen and three ducklings were still paddling around the pond.  I had just finished watching the ducks when I noticed that there were some ripples floating across the larger part of the pond.  I stood there for a moment trying to figure out if they were caused by the creek flowing in or if something else had caused them.  All of a sudden I saw a large head break the surface and was surprised to see an otter swimming towards me.  He climbed out of the pond and crossed the trail right in front of me before heading for Dogfish Creek.  I knew that otters were around but never really expected to see one myself.  It was pretty cool!

Once again I realized I had spent too much time wandering around and now had to walk quickly to my truck and get to the shop to open by 10:00am.  Here is my list for last Saturday...
